Welcome to Shred Fest!
This year we invite all you "WILD THANGZ" to come Shred the Love on March 21st, 2026

This is an all-abilities fundraiser & vertical challenge at Whitefish Mountain Resort.

We're all WILD THANGZ at heart - Join the Pack!"

THE CHALLENGE:

Fundraise in advance of the event to support DREAM and our empowering programs.  Then, join us for a fun on-snow celebration and optional vertical or adventure challenges on March 21st! You can chase after fun challenges, hike uphill, ski, or ride as many vertical feet as you can in one day, or just bring the stoke and celebrate another empowering season at the mountain with DREAM!  Prizes will be handed out for most funds raised, challenges completed, and vertical feet shredded in multiple categories. Don’t forget your fun outfit or costume! This year's theme is "WILD THANGZ"

OVERVIEW:

  • To attend you must raise at least $200 for DREAM ($250 if you need a day lift ticket) by March 21st
  • Use the DREAM fundraising platform to create a fundraising page to share with your family, friends, colleagues, strangers, forest critters, or yetis… whoever will give!
  • Create a team (of up to 5 people) for an even better chance to win sweet prizes!
  • Hike, ski, or ride on March 21st; vertical feet will be tallied, challenges won, & prizes awarded!
  • Head back down to the Spruce Lot that afternoon to celebrate an awesome event and season!
 

Packet Pick-up and Shred Fest Kick Off Party is from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM on March 20th at the Tap House in Whitefish.  

  • If you raise $200 by Friday March 20th at 5:00 PM, you will receive a DREAM beanie and a complimentary beverage at the Tap House!
  • All WILD THANGZ will receive their score cards, and for folks in the Adventure Challenge, you will receive the first clue to the scavenger hunt!

On March 21st, the day of Shred - Fest you will RECEIVE even more SWAG for your fundraising efforts!
 
  • $200 A custom DREAM beanie and bandana to all those meeting the minimum fundraising amounts (if you missed packet pickup on March 20th)
  • $390 - receive custom DREAM goggle covers (It's our 39th year at WMR!)
  • $700 - receive a Shred Fest DREAM ball cap.
  • $1,000 - receive a custom DREAM YETI tumbler
  • FREE BREAKFAST: Pancakes, bacon and all the toppings plus coffee at the DREAM Shack, prior to 10AM
  • Access to a discounted lift ticket if needed. You must notify us by March 14th if you need a lift ticket.
  • 9:00am-4:00pm vertical challenge, scavenger hunts, and contests for those interested, or just cruise with friends and Shred the Love!
  • BURRITO BAR from The House of S&M for lunch.
  • Post-party with awards, libations, and music
  • Snacks & stoke all day long so you can unleash your wild side!

OVERVIEW

The SHRED FEST is a full day 9:00 am-4:00 pm vertical or adventure challenge for all abilities at Whitefish Mountain Resort.  Prizes will be awarded for most funds raised, vertical feet shredded, or for completing the most challenges. Shed Fest is divided into three challenges: 1. Uphill Vert Challenge 2. Downhill Vert Challenge 3. Adventure Challenge.

Bonus points if you wear a WILD THANGZ costume! This year we're getting in touch with our wild side.  Join the pack. We are all a part of the same wild-hearted crew.  Let's come together with our zebra stripes, leopard print, animal ears, faux fur, tails and whiskers.

This feel-good competition raises funds to support DREAM in our efforts to break down barriers to the outdoors for people with disabilities. WILD THANGZ is a celebration of freedom, fun, and the unstoppable spirit of outdoor recreation.

UPHILL VERT DIVISION

Prizes awarded to top three competitors in each Uphill Vert Category. Uphill laps will be tracked on scorecards using the honor system.

Divisions are inclusive of all abilities, sliding tools, and genders.

SHRED SPIRIT AWARD

The individual that most embodies the spirit of the SHRED FEST will receive a special award at the closing party.  This person will CELEBRATE our mission of making outdoor recreation accessible to everyone.  Vertical feet or challenges won won’t help you too much in this category but showcasing your love and passion (think costumes, fundraising initiative, event-day spirit, etc.) for DREAM's mission will!
